Announcement: “Not Scared” Podcast

Last year, I listened to over 1,200 hours of podcasts. This year, I made one. Welcome to “Not Scared: A Horror Movie Podcast,” where I talk to people about their favorite horror movies and why they are so special.

Every other week, my guest and I have a conversation about one of their favorite horror movies and why we love horror. We aren’t academic, though criticisms aren’t forbidden. We try our best to not be clouded by nostalgia but sometimes it happens. Spoilers and some swearing abound, so listener discretion advised. So far, we’ve covered Rose Red (2002), Suspiria (2018), The Evil Dead (1981), Red Eye (2005) and most recently, Let’s Scare Jessica to Death (1971).

For exclusive episodes like my review of Weapons (2025), be sure to subscribe at a paying level to my Substack. Real talk: I’ve never profited off of my work here, on Instagram or Substack, and while I love to do it, it also takes a lot of time. If you enjoy my stuff, this is the best way to financially support me!

I premiered this podcast way back at the beginning of the summer, but recently gained enough confidence (and time) to post a few more episodes with regularly. Yes, I feel a bit ridiculous promoting anything about my work in such a trying time in recent history. Yes, I feel silly like Rachel Sennot in Bodies, Bodies, Bodies. I hope you’ll listen anyways.

I’d listen to Alice’s podcast. Bodies Bodies Bodies (2022), courtesy of A24
