Hello everyone and happy new year!
I’d like to provide you with a few updates on my work in 2025 (and beyond). First of all, I’m going to continue posting on this blog. I just want to say that up front. But I’m going to be posting additional content on my Substack, a paid newsletter site that allows folks to choose a monetary amount to support me (you can also subscribe for free). Starting this year, all posts that appear on this blog will also appear for free on Substack. However, there are certain posts for subscribers only (including free subscribers), and a podcast for paid subscribers only (coming later in the year). I keep things pretty light and general over here, but there I feel like I can share a bit more behind a paywall. Again, you can subscribe for free and most of my content will be posted for free.
What can you expect from this blog?
- “Best of” lists
- Top 10 rankings
- Hall of Fame lists from famous directors
- Roundup posts of writing elsewhere
What can you expect from CNS Substack?
- “Best of” lists
- Top 10 rankings
- Hall of Fame lists from famous directors
- Writing on “true” horror topics
- Speculative plays and theater reviews
- Reviews of new movies and books
- More hot takes and longform essays
- Exclusive podcast (paid subscribers only)
TLDR, not much will change over here, but I will start producing more content on the Chloe’s Not Scared Substack, for both free and paid subscribers.
A final note. I’ve been having a lot of conversations lately about vulnerability and the internet. I love writing but it’s not easy to share. When I share something online— be it as “small” as a Letterboxd review or Instagram post— I get so concerned about what others will think. I’m writing everyday, mostly about how emotional films and books make me feel, so no wonder I’m self conscious! But that discomfort is the beauty of being human. We all make mistakes and hopefully learn from them. All you can do is do what you love, try new things, think critically and have fun, which I do through this blog. In that case, I’m grateful for this platform and I’m thankful for you!
Thank you so much for supporting my work and I hope to see you all on Substack!
